Master and Work Repositories




Master Repository:

1.    Master repository stores the information defined by topology manager and security navigator.

2.     Security Information: users, profiles, access privileges.

3.    Topology information including technologies, Data servers, physical and logical schemas , contexts, agents and languages

4.    This repository is stored on a relational database accessible in client/server Mode from the different ODI modules .

5.    In general, you need only one Master repository.

Work Repository:

1.    This repository is stored on a relational database accessible in client/server mode from the different ODI modules.

2.    Several Work repositories can be designated with several Master repositories, if necessary.

3.    However, a Work repository can be linked with only one Master repository for version   Management purposes .

4.     Work repository should always attached to a master repository.

5.    Work repository stores the information defined in Designer navigator .

6.    It stores   Data models: metadata, constraints, references, data lineage, etc

7.     Projects: interfaces, packages, procedures, folders, knowledge modules, etc

8.    •Execution, which means Scenarios, scheduling information and logs
